Crossroads GPS, a conservative group founded by Karl Rove, is out with yet another TV ad in Virginia targeting President Barack Obama on the issue of debt.
“It wasn’t supposed to be this way,” a female narrator begins the 30-second spot, titled “Tried.”
“Over three years with crushing unemployment. American manufacturing shrinking again. President Obama’s plan? Spend more,” the narrator adds. “He’s added $4 billion in debt every day. The economy is slowing, but our debt keeps growing.”
Like other Crossroads ads, it encourages viewers to learn about the “New Majority Agenda,” a platform “focused on pro-growth tax policy, a renewed commitment to the power of free enterprise, and restrained spending that no longer crowds out private sector investment and real growth.”
The ad, part of a $25 million national push, will air for seven to 10 days in Virginia and eight other states.
Crossroads has reserved $6.6 million worth of Virginia air time for presidential advertising for the fall and $5.7 million for U.S. Senate-focused ads.
