On the heels of this morning’s weak jobs report, Karl Rove-founded conservative group Crossroads GPS has announced a $3.4 million anti-Obama TV ad blitz in Virginia focused on the nation’s ballooning debt.
The first ad in the series, “Excuses,” will air in Virginia and several other swing states beginning next week.
“America’s jobless rate is still too high. Barack Obama’s got lots of excuses for the bad economy,” the narrator says, before cutting to a montage of Obama clips where he references “headwinds coming from Europe,” “an earthquake in Japan” and the “Arab spring” among other things.
“But Obama never blames Washington’s wild spending and skyrocketing debt. Tell Obama for real job growth, cut the debt,” the narrator concludes.
The ad is part of a $25 million Crossroads advocacy effort starting July 10 and running through early August.
