With next Tuesday’s GOP primary looming, Susan Allen, wife of Republican U.S. Senate front-runner George Allen, made a series of campaign stops Thursday in the Richmond area.
As part of her husband’s “Send a Message” tour, Allen made stops in Hanover, Henrico and Chesterfield counties, appearing alongside state Dels. John A. Cox, R-Hanover, and Roxann L. Robinson, R-Chesterfield.
George Allen, meanwhile, is scheduled to appear in Rockville tomorrow with House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-7th, at a rally and luncheon.
In Tuesday’s primary, Allen faces Chesterfield County tea party activist Jamie Radtke, Chesapeake minister E.W. Jackson and state Del. Robert G. Marshall, R-Prince William.
The winner will face former Gov. Timothy M. Kaine in the fall election to choose a successor for U.S. Sen. Jim Webb, D-Va.
