Crossroads GPS is running a new TV ad in Virginia over energy — the latest to join the airwaves.

The Karl Rove-affiliated conservative advocacy group said the $204,000 ad buy starts today on broadcast and cable networks in Richmond, Charlottesville and Washington.

This 30-second ad references a TV spot released earlier this month by President Barack Obama’s re-election campaign that says domestic oil production is at an eight-year high.

The Crossroads ad’s narrator says “no matter how Obama spins it, gas costs too much.”

The Obama campaign’s spot, running in Virginia and five other states, came as two other groups were running dueling TV ads in this battleground state over fuel costs.
