Chesterfield County tea part leader Jamie Radtke will appear atop the June 12 Republican U.S. Senate primary ballot.

This morning, Radtke’s name was chosen from a crystal bowl at the State Board of Elections, earning her the coveted top spot over former Gov. George Allen.

Allen and Radtke both turned in their petition signatures at noon on March 12, the first day of the filing period that closed last week, leaving the SBE to determine the first name.

Allen will appear second on the ballot, followed by Del. Robert G. Marshall, R-Prince William, and Chesapeake minister E.W. Jackson.

Former Gov. Timothy M. Kaine has been named the Democratic nominee in the race to succeed U.S. Sen. Jim Webb, D-Va., who is not seeking re-election.
